Koalas in the wild (and the not so wild) + very long silt jetty!

We visited Raymond Island today (Paynesville, Vic) - and saw several koalas. Some were I  people's backyards!

Days 2-3 (Lilydale VIC)

Morning exercise, cooking breakfast, catching up with family, food, and minor breakages are themes of days 2 and 3. I've enjoyed starting the morning with a walk near the caravan park ( Lilydale Pine Hill Caravan Park ) - morning sunrise, mist, kangaroos, birds singing. Some time in the adult outside gym - would be nice to up the fitness and strength during this trip! Cann River to Eden + food diary

After crossing the border from VIC to NSW yesterday, we're now camped on the edge of a lagoon at Eden - very picturesque, as per photo above. We have a surf beach on the other side of us, about 500m away. Although the waves are closing out - no decent sand banks it currently appears, unfortunately. Will either go for a drive to another surf break, go check out the Eden Mountain bike park, or perhaps both as we've given ourselves an extra night here! Pedro enjoying Aslings beach, Eden! Food wise we checked out the onsite food van last night, but due to a lack of vegetarian options I concocted a Middle Eatern inspired dish from whatever I could find in the cupboards and fridge. Byron Bay (Cavanbah - meeting place) 9-17th of June

Byron Bay and surrounds has been great - relaxing, catching up with family and friends, spotting whales, bike riding, horse riding for Ari, and a couple of surfs! Pedro may not share fond memories of the first few days, as he lost his balls (desexed). But he's now back in fine form - making human and doggy friends everywhere he goes! My mum flew into Gold Coast during our stay here in Byron, and stayed at our cousin's apartment with us for 4 nights. We took a drive to Lismore with Mum, which was interesting to go inland a little way. It would appear the Government has spent quite a bit on new infrastructure in Lismore since the 2022 floods. Although we've also heard along the way that quite a few people have not been able to return to their homes. Our cousins flew in a couple of days later than Mum and treated us to e-bike rides, surfboard and tips from Rohan, and a lovely roast lamb and salad dinner! Last night we caught up with an old school friend...
