Eden to Bermagui

Image
Bermagui has been another great coastal town - particularly love the beaches and rock formations in the area. Weather has been a bit cool, but I braved my first proper swim yesterday, which was refreshing! We scored another fantastic site at another "Reflections" caravan park (same as we stayed in Eden) - this one overlooking the beach. Ari and Pedro have particularly enjoyed rock hopping and exploring over the last 2 days. The ocean pools are something different for us, as we don't have these in Tassie. Another lovely sunset tonight... Pedro adding a nice white backing canvas to my rock cairn. Interesting walking around the docks this morning - a wide range of boats, and some history about the Bermagui Fishing Cooperative dating back to 1946.

Cann River to Eden + food diary

Image
After crossing the border from VIC to NSW yesterday, we're now camped on the edge of a lagoon at Eden - very picturesque, as per photo above. We have a surf beach on the other side of us, about 500m away. Although the waves are closing out - no decent sand banks it currently appears, unfortunately. Will either go for a drive to another surf break, go check out the Eden Mountain bike park, or perhaps both as we've given ourselves an extra night here! Pedro enjoying Aslings beach, Eden! Food wise we checked out the onsite food van last night, but due to a lack of vegetarian options I concocted a Middle Eatern inspired dish from whatever I could find in the cupboards and fridge. Ari said "it was better than I expected" and ate all but some of the almonds. So I'll take that as a win! Breakfast yesterday at Cann River was back to the trusty pikelets, per below. The previous evening we made the most of an open fireplace an...

Lakes Entrance 22-24 April

Image
After snapping a few sunrise pics at Paynesville (see below), we made our way to Lakes Entrance.  At Lakes Entrance we particularly enjoyed seeing the actual Entrance into the ocean - birds and seals were fighting for fish, and a couple of boats came through.  More sunrise pics at Lakes Entrance (below). And now we're at Cann River Rainforest Park , where we've lit our first camp fire, and Ari has shown me how to cook apples!

Koalas in the wild (and the not so wild) + very long silt jetty!

We visited Raymond Island today (Paynesville, Vic) - and saw several koalas. Some were I  people's backyards! https://raymondislandkoalatrail.com.au/ We also drove along the 2nd largest silt jetties in the world (Eagle Point) at 8km long https://www.gippslandlakesescapes.com.au/silt-jetties/
